About the role

As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted material supply to support manufacturing operations. Working closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams, you will manage procurement activities, monitor supplier performance, mitigate supply risks, and optimize inventory levels. Your contributions will directly impact production continuity, operational efficiency, and overall supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Buyer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Managing assigned suppliers and commodities to ensure uninterrupted material supply to production.

  • Placing and maintaining purchase orders based on demand requirements and forecast changes.

  • Monitoring supplier delivery performance, identifying risks, and driving recovery actions when necessary.

  • Executing supplier expedites and developing mitigation plans for potential shortages.

  • Maintaining accurate system parameters, including lead times, MOQ, pricing, and supplier information.

  • Collaborating with Planning, Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to support new product introductions, engineering changes, and production requirements.

  • Driving inventory optimization initiatives, including safety stock management and reduction of excess and obsolete inventory.

  • Supporting supplier negotiations related to lead times, payment terms, and logistics improvements.

  • Monitoring and improving supplier KPIs such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), responsiveness, and quality performance.

  • Participating in SIOP activities and communicating demand changes to suppliers.

  • Ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

  • Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

We are looking for people who are proactive, analytical, organized, and results-driven. If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Materials Management, or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience managing direct materials suppliers and production-critical commodities.

  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).

  • Experience in supplier management and expediting activities.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Experience participating in SIOP processes and inventory optimization initiatives.

  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
