The Program Manager (Strategic Programs & OPS Transformation) is tasked with leading operations and manufacturing programs across the various businesses within Carrier, delivering coaching, training, mentorship, and leadership to multidisciplinary transformational programs that leverage strategic planning and analysis, manufacturing automation, and lean process and material flow to maximize factory value, focus on reducing our overall manufactured cost, and increase agility to better serve our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Has direct accountability for the success of medium/large programs as measured in all terms and requirements of the applicable job ticket, by profitability/cost expectations set by the PMO and BU Leadership, and by the measure of customer satisfaction.
- Ensures programs meet customer requirements and are delivered within schedule, budget, and performance estimates.
- Gathers and manages data to monitor program’s progress in terms of cost, schedule, and technical specifications.
- Creates and presents stage gate reviews to technical and business leaders
- Demonstrates and executes continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Identifies and escalates program problems and supports resolutions to ensure the successful completion of programs.
- Partners with various functional organizations to achieve alignment with customer program objectives.
- Directs all program phases from inception through completion.
- Interfaces with customers for project specifications to ensure successful completion.
- Manages the cost, schedule and performance of programs or subsystems of major programs.
- Establishes cost-focused performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets.
- Utilizes Program Management best practices by creating, assembling, and leading a cross-functional team, ensuring that comprehensive functional plans and deliverables are in place.
- Creates and maintains project status tracker.
- Works with engineering, manufacturing, and management teams to evaluate current operations, develop enhancement project needs, and define project scopes, costs, and benefits.
- Key communicator of business goals to Project Team; sets Team performance commitments to those goals.
- Key communicator to business and senior leadership of Project status and risks.
- Manages program risk at all levels and ensures effective contingency planning.
- Develops and monitors key product, program, and business measures.
- Works with business leaders to set goals and allowable variances to goals.
- Actively participates in and maintains strict compliance to all Carrier Policies and EHS requirements.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:
- The ideal candidate will possess a BS degree in an Engineering discipline (Industrial or Mechanical), Operations Management, or Program Management with 10+ years relevant technical experience.
- MS degree in an Engineering discipline, Operations Management, or Program Management with 5+ years relevant technical experience.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Conversational English level.
- 5+ yeas experience as Area Manager are required.
- Professional background in either Product, Manufacturing, Quality or similar.
- Availability to commute to Santa Catarina, Nuevo León on a daily basis.
- Requires ability to travel internationally in support of multiple programs 10%
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, interpersonal skills and team orientation
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset.
- Must have experience managing multiple projects and working on and/or leading multi-disciplined teams or work groups.
- Must have project management experience, including planning, budgeting, negotiating with suppliers, equipment layout and implementation, and communicating with internal customers.
- Highly motivated and adaptable to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy within a diverse organization.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of leadership, internal and external customers, responding in a professional manner.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
- Possess strong prioritization, time management skills and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
