Summary
Experienced Mechanical Engineer. Executes elements of product development activities and testing. Responsible for enhancing commonality and optimization of product and components.
Job Description
- Manage elements of product development activities including cost estimates, implementation of standard specifications, drawing board layout and interpretation, and development of performance or maintenance requirements.
- Execute test and qualification for systems, sub-systems, and components. Review test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
- Enhance commonality and optimization of product & components.
- Test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess operating condition effects and necessity of modification.
- Produce parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests
- Work with quality clinic and related departments to support the test and verification of field issues.
Role Responsibilities:
Review mechanical tender documents, specifications, drawings, and client requirements
Identify project scope, exclusions, assumptions, and risks
Participate in initial site surveys and clarification meetings with clients
Prepare comprehensive solution, detailed scope of work, BOQs, inspection reports, and costing sheets
Develop accurate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost breakdowns
Coordinate with application and controls teams for equipment selection and system configuration
Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards
Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations for mechanical equipment (e.g., chillers, pumps, accessories, transformers)
Review, verify, and technically evaluate RFQs and received offers
Review and validate pricing before submission
Support management in cost verification, value engineering, and commercial clarifications
Support preparation and submission of the final technical and commercial offer
Assist sales and management teams during tender negotiations and clarifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering
+ 10 years experience in same field
