About the role

The Senior Counsel will provide general legal advice to Carrier’s Central and Eastern European business and shared service operations, which includes:

• providing supply chain and operational legal support for Carrier’s Transport Refrigeration and Residential Light Commercial factories in the Czech Republic and Hungary,
• serving as legal focal point to Carrier’s Global People and Business Services hubs in the Czech Republic, and
• providing general legal support for Carrier’s Transport Refrigeration, Commercial and Residential Light & Light Commercial sales and distribution businesses in the Czech Republic and other countries in the region.

This position is part of the EMEA Legal Team and is based in the Czech Republic in Prague and reports to the Sr. Director, Legal in charge of Central and Eastern Europe.

Requirements

• Master degree in Law
• Bar Admission in a EU Jurisdiction
• 5+ years law firm experience or in-house corporate/commercial experience
• Fluency in CZ & English written and spoken languages is mandatory, other Eastern European languages would be a plus.
• Experience in contracts, commercial litigation, construction, or corporate law
• Experience advising in manufacturing/technology, including factory and supply chain
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Consultative, strategic and solution focused business partner with a growth mindset

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and service on broad range of areas to internal business clients concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges of corporations to ensure that corporate interests are well-represented.
• Negotiate long-term, complex contracts with multinational suppliers and customers that involve equipment, service, parts, and other Carrier-offerings and ensure compliance with Carrier’s overall strategy and policies.
• Assist business leaders to resolve commercial disputes and provide legal guidance for European based factories and operations, as well as team support related to requirements for global delivery of wide portfolio of products. 
• Coordinate with internal Centers of Excellence to provide full-scale legal support for business.
• Support innovative business actions required for dynamic business segments with a lens for compliance and risk mitigation.
