About the role

Carrier is looking for an experienced data management professional to join our team as Business Enterprise Data Domain Expert. The Data Domain Expert will be part of the Carrier Business Services (CBS) Global Master Data Management (MDM) team and will support the master data improvement strategy and roadmap. The role will support the implementation of structural improvements, delivering the highest Master Data quality level aiming at running efficient end-to-end business processes and allowing for decision making based on trusted data.

Requirements

  • Post-Graduation in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, ISC, Economics, IT or equivalent work experience … Should be specific to the Data Domain/Function to support
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ overall experience with 2 to 3 years’ experience in process related function and with the Data supporting these processes
  • Systems/IT knowledge required, including experience with their implementation Systems specific to the Data Domain to be included (e.g. SAP)
  • Experience in Project Management, with supporting certification preferred
  • Experience in implementation of standardized E2E business processes, in MDM processes a plus
  • Experience in interfacing with business operational customers
  • Experience in process and Data improvement, applying root cause analysis
  • Experience in MDM application systems (preferably SAP MDG)
  • Experience in defining requirements for building data quality reports/dashboards
  • Experience in complex IT system environments
  • Experience in complex business environments
  • Leverages best in class examples, key expert / key stakeholder input to design the appropriate Data foundation
  • Leverages business understanding and its requirements in the design of MDM processes
  • Keeps deadlines and produces high quality output
  • Fosters a constructive dialogue within process owners, BU/Functions and other key stakeholders
  • Strong communicator and change agent
  • Ability to utilize metrics to identify opportunities for service improvement
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer service mind-set and skills
  • International mind-set – sensible for cultural differences

Responsibilities

  • Support the CBS MDM team in the implementation of the company-wide Data Policies and Governance Framework
  • Deliver the Master Data Management strategy and roadmap
  • Support the delivery master data projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and value realisation
  • Together with Data Principals and Data Owner, define data standards, cleansing (Get Clean) and monitoring (Dashboard/KPIs) of the master data
  • Supporting the delivery of controlled, governed, and harmonized data maintenance processes for the data domain, including their introduction into the CBS operating model, ensuring effective and efficient master data maintenance services
  • Implementing the required KPIs in the Global MDM Dashboard to monitor data standards compliance
  • The above includes supporting technology implementation and required change management activities
  • Documenting data definition into the Data Dictionary/Catalogue for the data domain
  • For the specific data domain, act as IT touchpoint for master data SME supporting projects
  • Supporting the implementation of the Data Collection, Storage and Modelling strategy
  • Developing documentation and education materials to support business stakeholders and imbed Master Data Management best practices
  • Fostering a continuous improvement and agile mentality in the delivery of the Master Data Management roadmap
  • For the relevant data domain, support MDM Operations for queries and escalations (2nd line support)
  • Support the Data Principal in his/her continued focus on innovation and standardization to drive down total cost to serve and enhance customer satisfaction through improved quality of processes for the specific data domain
  • For some projects, manage temporary external Projects Data Experts
  • Foster communication and teamwork within and across organizational boundaries
  • Build working relationships and foster communication with internal customers within and across organizational and geographic boundaries
