Shopify Quality Analyst (QA) 

About the role

Carrier’s Digital Sales and Service (DSS) Center of Excellence (COE)team is enabling higher digital customer experience capabilities throughout the enterprise. Through centralized investment in technology, talent, and business transformation the team aims to solidify Carrier’s position as a leader in sales enablement, service, digital commerce spaces.  

This person will collaborate and work closely with the DSS COE product, engineering, and implementation teams to meet roadmap and new initiative commitments. This involves understanding the requirements thoroughly, gauging impact on current modules/functionalities and supporting the delivery of technical initiatives with focus on quality assurance and bug free deliverables, within specific timeframes and budgets.

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Support digital PODs developing scalable e-commerce solutions across channels, using enterprise commerce platforms, third-party system integrations, and tailored capabilities for individual business units. 

  • Build knowledge of business processes with an expectation for facilitating continuous improvement. 

  • Identify and document issues affecting daily operations, communicate defects and their impact to the business team, and provide status updates on investigation, resolution, and verification. 

  • Build test cases based on the business requirements for existing and new features and/or enhancements. 

  • Proficient in manual testing, bug reporting and regression testing specific to Shopify (ecommerce). 

  • Ability to document and report detailed defects in JIRA. 

  • Experience working on global, multi-year initiatives with cross-functional teams. 

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Knowledge of best practices across ecommerce, regression testing and stress testing. 

  • Proven ability to work within globally distributed virtual teams, contribute to projects and deliver results in a diverse, global stakeholder environment 

  • Strong analytical, strategic, and detailed reporting (bug/defect) skills. 

  • Team player with a positive, collaborative work ethic. 

Requirements

  • 4+ years professional experience, including 2+ years with Shopify, Shopify Plus, Magento, or similar e-commerce platforms, focused on QA and testing. 

  • Strong knowledge of Shopify ecosystem, including Plus features, APIs, Storefront/Admin interfaces, and integration testing. 

  • Skilled in designing and executing functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test cases for Shopify apps. 

  • Experienced in defect tracking, root cause analysis, and collaborating with teams to ensure timely issue resolution. 

  • Excellent communication skills for conveying technical and QA insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Familiar with test automation, API testing, regression suites, and CI/CD pipelines for e-commerce environments.

  • Familiar with eCommerce ecosystem, user journeys, and customer touchpoints to ensure end-to-end quality. 

  • Proficient in JIRA for defect tracking, detailed test case creation, test execution, and reporting. 

  • Able to assess the impact of new enhancements on existing functionalities, identifying potential regression risks. 

  • Experienced in exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues across multi-channel e-commerce platforms. 

  • Skilled in validating integrations with third-party systems such as ERP, PIM, payment gateways, and marketing platforms. 

  • Familiar with cross-browser, cross-device, and responsive testing to ensure consistent user experience. 

  • Knowledge of performance and load testing principles to identify bottlenecks and ensure scalability. 

  • Ability to collaborate closely with developers and business teams to clarify requirements and improve test coverage.
