Job Role:

We’re expanding our team located in Hyderabad, India, we’re looking for a talented, highly motivated, and results-driven engineer with expertise in refrigerant component/system model development and inter-disciplinary (thermal, mechanical, electrical, or control) and technical leadership. The main responsibility of the ideal candidate will be the development, software implementation, and testing of physics-based models of HVAC/R components and systems and providing technical leadership to the modeling group based at the Hyderabad R&D center.

Responsibilities

The modeling engineer is responsible for refrigerant component/system model development/accuracy assurance/troubleshooting/maintenance/model integration with API/UI.

  • Design and develop physics-based thermo-fluid models of HVAC-R components.
  • Participate in the full life cycle of calculation backend development from specification and design through implementation, unit testing, accuracy assurance, integration with API/UI, and code maintenance.
  • Work with Product Owner and technology team to do troubleshooting/bug fixing.
  • Perform model testing, calibration, and validation based on experimental data.
  • Work with our engineering design centers globally on challenging modeling problems and promote the application of modeling and simulation techniques to support design decisions.

Job Description:

  • Experience: 7+ years in the relevant area
  • Proficient in Thermal Modelling
  • Proficient in major Refrigerant components, such as Heat Exchangers, Chiller Models compressors/condensers/evaporators/ expansion valves, is a plus.
  • Proficient in basic refrigerant cycles, such as single-stage compression cycle, is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Good understanding of HVAC&R, thermal fluid systems, and thermodynamic cycles.
  • 3 years of coding experience, C# is better. Experience in mechanical system modeling is a plus.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages including but not limited to Python, R, Matlab, Scala, SQL, C/C++, Java, Modelica   
  • Knowledge of machine learning, linear algebra, statistics, signal processing, and optimization is a plus
  • Hand-on experience with embedded system and lab testing is also a plus
  • Strong technical writing abilities to provide high quality documentation and standard work.
