Summary:
The individual should be capable of analyzing system requirements and designing, developing, and executing both manual and automated tests to maintain high product quality. They will actively participate in all phases of the QA lifecycle, including analysis, estimation, planning, execution, and release.
Key Responsibilities
An energetic person who is capable of working as part of team & perform validation of new product development and/or sustaining programs. Deliver the product with quality. Develop test cases around the requirements & improve test efficiency by automation
QA Engineer supporting the continued design, development, and quality delivery of firmware & software applications for the Building & Industrial Systems domain products at Carrier
Driving and execution of test planning, execution through AI tools.
Basic knowledge on HVAC. Basic knowledge on Hardware Simulators
Good at manual and automated test execution in embedded and software systems. Good understanding of SDLC, bug life cycle
Experience in understanding requirements traceability matrix
Experience in automation testing and hands-on in developing automation frame work
Experience in testing different communication protocols such as, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485, TCP/IP, BACnet, Modbus etc.
Good Working knowledge of Defect Reporting & Configuration management tools
Create manual test cases/automation test scripts, Document and Execute the test cases that conform to the technical and functional specifications for firmware and Software applications
Document and present test results as per the QA policies and procedures
Contributes ideas on product and process improvements. Participates in design review sessions
Implements appropriate automation technologies to meet the short and long term goals of the company
Adhere to the Automation Framework for HVAC domain products and enhancements
Proficiency with commonly used electrical test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers etc.
Technical Competencies:
Embedded & Domain Expertise: Extensive experience in testing complex embedded systems, specifically within the HVAC, Industrial Automation domains.
Protocols & Connectivity: Deep hands-on knowledge of communication protocols including I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485, TCP/IP, BACnet, and Modbus.
Tools: Proficiency in Defect management, Test planning and execution tools, JIRA, Confluence, ADO or Rally
Coding language: Test automation tools
Methodologies: Good knowledge of SDLC, Agile

Analytical Thinking: Expert-level troubleshooting skills with a "relentless root cause" mindset.
