About the role

This role is to design & development new products (Chillers) from concept to launch, optimize product performance / efficiency. Re-design/ customize the product to per specific requirements and improve cost productivity/ quality.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead thermal system design & development for Chillers (Scroll, Screw, Centrifugal)
  • Experience of selection and integration of key components like compressor, Copper tubes, Economizer, Thermal design of flooded & DX type heat exchanger, oil separator etc.
  • Design of the sub-assemblies and parts & development in coordination with suppliers.
  • Test, Optimize, qualify the product as per applicable standards (IS16590, AHRI 550/551 etc) and Chiller BEE labelling. Exposure to chiller controls and troubleshooting.
  • Develop project plan and execute it for flawless launch.
  • Tracks and follow-up of all projects and provide status updates regularly.
  • Product Innovation – identify relevant trends in products and initiate actions.
  • Develop launch related literature (Installation & Service manual, Training manual etc).
  • Identify / evaluate opportunities and develop prototype post design simulations on software’s .
  • Engage with other cross functional team for execution of the projects.
  • Work closely with designers to develop optimized structural design for Chillers.
  • Publish drawing release plan, review designs/ drawings and prepare Bills of Materials. 
  • Engineering support to other cross-functional members.
  • Adherence to project time schedule, risk identification & mitigation.

Academic & Other Requirements:

  • BE/ B.Tech from an institute recognized by AICTE with minimum 5 to 10 Years of relevant experience in HVAC Industry (Preferably in chillers development & testing).
  • Ability to lead projects independently with cross functional teams, good presentation, communication skills, sound technical knowledge, Analytical thinking and problem solving are the key.
  • Self-starter who can work on his/her own initiative, capable of balancing a demanding workload through effective prioritisation and completing work requirements quickly and accurately.
  • Flexible approach and strong team working capabilities.
  • Exposure of the CAD softwares like Pro-E / Catia / solidworks etc.
