About the Role

The Account Sales Executive-Mission Critical- is responsible for driving new OEM business growth within the data center market. This role involves identifying and pursuing potential clients, understanding their unique data center needs, and crafting tailored solutions to meet those needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and a deep understanding of data center operations and technologies. Key responsibilities include generating leads, building and maintaining client relationships, negotiating contracts, and achieving sales targets. The role requires a proactive approach, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.

As an OEMCtrl Account Sales Executive you will work closely with assigned OEM accounts and prospects to ensure their transition to, and long-term utilization of, OEMCtrl products.

You will be part of a high caliber, customer-facing team that has a direct impact on the products and customer applications produced at Carrier Building Technologies.

OEMCtrl products by Carrier Building Technologies can be found in industry leading equipment serving in a wide variety of industries and applications such as Commercial HVAC (air handlers, roof top units, chillers, heat pumps, fan coil units, dedicated outside air units, energy recovery units, etc.), Telecommunications, Lighting Systems, Fire System Monitoring, Clean Rooms, Water Treatment, Paint Booths, Airline Ground Support Systems, Power Systems Monitoring, Laboratory Controls and more.   

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving new OEM business growth within the data center and mission critical market.

  • Identifying and pursuing potential clients, understanding their unique data center needs, and crafting tailored solutions to meet those needs.

  • Key responsibilities include generating leads, building and maintaining client relationships, negotiating contracts, and achieving sales targets.

  • Requires a proactive approach, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.

  • Work closely with assigned OEM accounts and prospects to ensure their transition to, and long-term utilization of, OEMCtrl products.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 5+ years of HVAC applications and/or controls experience

  • 1+ years of experience with building communications protocols (BACnet, Modbus, Open, MQTT and SNMP).

  • Valid Driver’s license

  • This position requires travel of 30% within the United States, Canada, and occasionally overseas. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Carrier and/or Automated Logic product knowledge a plus.

  • Sales experience is a plus.

  • Strong written and oral communication, and presentation skills.

  • Able to work with people of varied skill and knowledge levels.

  • Flexible regarding job duties.

  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of HVAC and controls theory.

  • Account management, applications engineering, and/or product support experience preferred.

  • Prefer a strong understanding of the fundamentals of TCP/IP, LAN and WAN configurations.

  • Prefer proficiency with SalesForce CRM platform.

  • Sales solution skills – the knowledge of company’s offerings, client applications, use cases and market trends and the skill to apply them to individual clients and prospect situations that positions the sales team member as an expert client advisor.
