Today, Carrier Transicolds comprehensive sales and service network includes over 400 container refrigeration support, service, and repair centers worldwide in all major and developing ports. We provide professional training to the industry in numerous languages at locations around the world. In addition, we have major inventories of spare parts at our 14 international parts depots, a reflection of our commitment to continually improving our aftermarket service.

About this role

Carrier Transicold - container refrigeration has an opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer (FSE). The FSE will provide aftermarket support to customers and service centers. As the first line of interface and communication with our customers and together with our sales team, the FSE strives for total customer satisfaction that yields future orders; and ensures the continuation of our leadership position in the global container market. The FSE manages field reworks, field trials, and follow-the-fleet programs with our customers and service centers to achieve on-time and within-budget program completions. With frequently visit customer sites to monitor and evaluate product performance; and to provide feedback (early warning signs) of any potential issues with our products in the field. The FSE is the first source of technical information and support to our customers via telephone (24/7) and during scheduled customer visits.  Manage and carry out together with our Training department scheduled (standard) schools, and non-scheduled training requirements (contractual or customer-specific training requests). Together with the CAP team, the FSE promotes and manages a seamless parts supply and promotes the usage of Carrier parts i.e., “Carrier parts in Carrier units”.

This is a remote position for supporting businesses in the South-Eastern USA, the Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico preference will be given to candidates residing in Florida USA or living close to a major airport hub.

Up to 40% of traveling is required in the USA, Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply technical information and support to customers via telephone and during onsite visits
  • Provide support with equipment download evaluations
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and field kits installation at a customer job site
  • Support the 24/7 Global Container Customer Technical Support Line for down equipment
  • Monitor and evaluate product performance; provide feedback to the Product Support group on potential issues with our products
  • Manage field rework, field trials, and follow-the-fleet programs; promote programs to customers and service centers; achieve on-time and within-budget program completions
  • Provide periodic progress reports to the program manager
  • Manage the logistics and support on formal training schools, and non-scheduled training requirements (contractual or customer-specific training requests)
  • Assist the Parts group by promoting Carrier OEM parts and special offerings 
  • Identify sources of gray market parts and help CAP (internal team) to become the primary and only parts supplier in the region for parts used in Carrier units
  • Strengthen the service center network and ensure compliance with Carrier policies and requirements
  • Participate in Carrier Excellence initiatives and projects

Basic Qualifications

  • High School or GED
  • 5 + years of experience in container refrigeration or refrigeration technical exposure
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Up to 40% travel within the USA, Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico
  • Valid motor vehicle license and safe driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor degree
  • Involvement in container refrigeration operation and customer service 
  • Experience in the maritime environment
  • Understand Refrigeration systems, controls, and diesel engines, and be able to troubleshoot unit issues
  • Experience in environmental testing and data collection, metal fabrication, auto mechanics, programming, and/or CAD skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, specifically Excel, and overall good computer skills
  • Relationship-building skills and ability to relate to people at all levels
  • Communicate on a technical and nontechnical basis to a technical and non-technical audience
  • English writing, communication & presentation skills
  • Problem-solving techniques
  • Organized and time management skills
  • Hands-on experience in container refrigeration

Pay Range:

$90,263 - $157,959 Annually
