SCOPE OF JOB

Perform mechanical maintenance functions related to plant facilities and/or equipment.

TYPICAL DUTIES

  • Install, test, trouble shoot, maintain, repair, overhaul, etc., any type of machine, fabricating machine, processing equipment or facility.
  • Check equipment and notify Supervisor of situations requiring corrective action.
  • Use specified safety equipment and practices.
  • Assist less qualified maintenance personnel with maintenance procedures.
  • Complete and return check sheets to Supervisor as required.
  • Keep equipment and working areas clean and in good order.
  • Keep accurate and legible records.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must possess knowledge of industrial mechanics by completion of an Associates Degree in Mechanics from a recognized trade school/university or college, or by passing an Associates Degree – Mechanical equivalency examination.
  • Lift, move and position materials, use tools, equipment, etc. quickly and effectively.
  • Have sound knowledge of mechanical applications, hydraulics, welding techniques, etc.
  • Must have five (5) years documented industrial experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Training required: Blueprint, Lift Truck Operator License, Crane Operator, ACE Overview
