About this role
At Sensitech, we value a user-centric approach at all stages of our product lifecycle, from conception through design, development, and customer experience. Our Digital Design Co-Op will assist and support our User Experience team with UX design, user research, procuct learning materials, and UI development to produce design assets and to develop and deliver enterprise software applications.
To be successful in this role, you must display a genuine interest in the UX discipline, designing interactions, and conducting user research. You should be naturally inquisitive and comfortable working with people as part of a larger team. You must possess strong written and verbal skills to deliver research findings through written, oral, and visual presentation methods.
We are seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join our team. The Digital Design Co-Op experience offers an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Sensitech and Carrier in achieving our business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design interaction concepts using storyboards, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Create original graphic designs (e.g., images, icons, and other graphics)
- Participate in user research, evaluate user feedback, report and document findings for stakeholders, and translate findings into design requirements.
- Collect customer insights and gather data to deepen our understanding of user needs, behaviors, and mental models.
- Artistic eye for design and ability to think creatively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collaboration is key. Must have an inquisitive and open nature to contribute to discussions and foster a collaborative approach to research and information gathering.
- A true desire to learn new things, be engaged, and want to make a difference every day.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Human Factors (HCI), Interaction Design, or a design field
- 3.0 or higher GPA
Preferred Qualifications
- Available to work onsite in Beverly Massachusetts for the duration of the Co-Op period, January through August 2025.
- Portfolio of design projects highlighting UX design examples.
- Working knowledge of design and wireframe tools (e.g., Axure, Figma, Adobe XD)
- Support design needs for training and product learning materials.
- Engaged team player; strong communication and listening skills to collaborate with various stakeholders, including executives, sales and support teams, and end users.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the intersection between user needs, technology requirements, and business goals.
- Understanding of agile principles and collaboration tools including Confluence, Jira, or similar software; and using Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, Etc.)
- Adaptable and able to transform ambiguity into intuitive interaction designs.
- Must be confident and skilled in leading design discussions to foster a collaborative approach to advising stakeholders, requirements collection, solution review, and ongoing feedback.
