It is a hands-on role designed to support the APAC EHS Leader (Service and aftermarket) by handling the essential administrative and field-level safety tasks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Legal Compliance & Safety Officer Duties

  • Serve as the legally designated Safety Officer for the Vietnam entity in accordance with the Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene.
  • Maintain the local EHS Legal Register and ensure all statutory records (training logs, health checks, equipment certifications) are audit ready.
  • Coordinate mandatory inspections for fire safety, pressure vessels, and environmental permits with local authorities.

2. Inspections, Audits & Risk Assessment

  • Conduct regular site safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure adherence to Carrier’s EHS standards.

  • Maintain the site EHS Training Matrix to ensure 100% compliance with internal and local requirements.

4. Incident Management & Data Entry

  • Facilitate the reporting of all near-misses and incidents; assist in root cause analysis and documentation.
  • Perform accurate data entry into Carrier’s EHS management systems, Enablon (e.g., tracking KPIs, waste data, and energy usage).
  • Prepare monthly EHS performance summaries for the Vietnam business unit.

5. Emergency Preparedness & Operational Support

  • Coordinate fire drills, evacuation exercises, and first-aid responder training.
  • Manage the inventory and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety signage.

6.Statutory Flexibility & Business Support

  • Regulatory Adaptability: Proactively undertake additional EHS-related duties, reporting, or certifications as required by evolving Vietnamese legislation (e.g., Environmental Protection, Fire Safety, or Labor laws) to ensure the Vietnam business unit remains fully compliant and licensed to operate.
  • Local Representation: Act as the primary point of contact for local authorities during routine administrative filings and certification renewals, ensuring all business-specific EHS permits are maintained in line with local provincial requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Certification: Must hold (or be eligible to obtain) the Vietnam Legal Safety Officer Certification (Group 2/Group 1 as per Decree 44/2016/ND-CP).
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within the HVAC, manufacturing, or service/logistics industry.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of Vietnamese EHS laws and Decree 44 requirements.
    • Disciplined in administrative tasks and data entry.
    • Proactive "on-the-floor" presence; ability to engage with technicians and warehouse staff.
