About This Role

You will solve problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, and iterative delivery environment. You should be comfortable in data engineering and have deep technology expertise in this area. You will be responsible for delivering highest quality solutions on time, cooperating with other Team Members, Technical Value Stream Lead, other Scrum Teams, Product Owners and Product Managers. You will create and maintain Data Warehouse solution according to provided architecture and requirements. This position will impact the tech agenda within the organization to deliver next generation technology solutions across a global organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Warehouse development, maintenance, support, and optimizations in a large multi-tenant architecture using AWS Redshift and other AWS Data Pipeline & Ingestion services

  • Data Modeling, ETL and/or ELT for complex large IoT, Operational Behavioral, and Meta Data

  • Data Warehouse security issue resolution, monitoring, workload management, query optimization, HA/DR for the RedShift clusters

  • Data Warehouse: Automation, Monitoring, Data Governance & Compliance, Scalability

  • Development of Carrier.io Analytics & Insights Value Stream in collaboration with other developers, testers, stakeholders, contributors, and customers

  • Drives development principles, best practices, quality standards, and activities within engineering production to minimize/mitigate risks, issues, and defects

  • Works closely with technical writers to create documentation for developers, consumers and customers

Required Qualifications

  • 3-6+ years of hands-on, enterprise level, professional software development experience as Data Engineer

  • 2+ years of hands-on cloud system development and delivery experience

  • Strong experience with Python, especially related to data processing

  • Strong knowledge of SQL

  • Data modelling skills

  • Experience with data warehousing solutions (preferably Amazon Redshift)

  • Experience with big data tools and platforms (preferably AWS)

  • Experience with ETL solutions (Apache Spark, Glue, Glue Crawlers, Athena, S3, Kinesis, Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS CDK, AWS Cloud Solutions and TypeScript

  • Knowledge of cloud architecture, cloud native patterns, and cloud computing capabilities especially as offered by AWS, specifically Timestream, Glue, Apache Spark, and DynamoDB

  • Dashboard development and report development experience with big data, ideally with Sisense (or a similar dashboard/reporting soluition)

  • Technical expertise in Cloud Computing technologies, scripting languages, integrating 3rd party monitoring tools, encryption tools and best practices, and forensics

  • Implementation experience with AWS Redshift, Graph data stores, Event-Driven Architecture, IoT project experience on a revenue generating project

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or comparable professional experience. Ideal candidates will have postgraduate degrees, or equivalent professional experience.
