About the role

Carrier Corporation is looking for a highly motivated and results driven individual to join the Commercial Airside (AHU) New Product Development team. The candidate will work on design and programming of selection software for new products and options to support the growth of the Commercial Airside business. As part of the AHU Engineering team s/he will work with other departments including Product Management, Manufacturing and other R&D teams to continually improve the back-end integration of the selection software with business systems such as ERP, MES and other production systems.

Requirements

We are looking for a Back End Integration Eng (Java)

As a minimum you must have:

BA/BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

3-5 years of experience on

• Java
• Agile Development Experience (e.g. Scrum)
• xQuery

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of JavaScript
• XML Database
• VBA
• DROOLS
• Sheet metal, mechanical and electrical design experience is desired
• SAP experience preferred

General Responsibilities

• Apply software engineering principles to code parametric engineering designs

• Analyze existing code to reverse engineer current software and systems

• Documentation and maintenance of code over time

• Utilize Agile methodologies for product development

• Works for Air Handler New Product Development Engineering team to translate Engineering rules into executable Java code

Specific Responsibilities

• Work with 3D geometry and engineering rules to directly support manufacturing using sheet metal flats, CNC Program inputs for manufacturing and bills of material to final forms and assemblies

• Understand pre-existing Java code behind the current, highly configurable product offering; extend the current code base to incorporate new functionality required for future projects

• Work with others on the engineering and software teams on the backend for the next generation cloud based front end for selection software

• Work with the front-end team on code integration to support timely software releases
