Det-Tronics has been providing proven flame detection, gas detection and hazard mitigation systems for high-risk processes and critical industrial operations worldwide since 1973. The Inside Sales Specialist works with customers to identify sales opportunities that will accelerate revenue growth and convert customer demand into sales opportunities. The inside sales representative will be responsible for developing and generating new leads, communicating with new and existing customers, understanding their needs, and ensuring a smooth sales process. This role should be able to close sales and meet targets.

To be successful the inside sales representative’s ability to build instant rapport and achieve customer satisfaction will be vital. The Inside Sales Representative will conduct research to identify leads and reach business targets through telephone, email, webinar and in person. This role will actively participate in the planning and execution of company sales activities providing vital input based on their interactions with prospects. Their efforts will also coordinate with the other external sales team and leaders within the targeted region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with new potential and existing customers, making outbound calls, and following up on leads. Includes initiating sales with customers to cross-sell and up-sell. Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert into sales

  • Cold-call prospects that are generated by external sources of lead

  • Identify decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales process

  • Penetrate all targeted accounts and sales from within existing customer base

  • Collaborate with appropriate team members to determine necessary strategic sales approaches

  • Create and deliver qualified opportunities to other team members

  • Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects of current and potential customers. Enter new customer data and update changes to existing

  • Ensure follow-up by passing leads to appropriate team members with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, etc.

  • Set up and deliver sales presentations, product/service demonstrations, and other sales actions to support customer knowledge and engagement with our products and services

  • Assist in creating RFP responses to potential customers or ongoing existing customers

  • Where necessary, support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, and other events. Ability to project and program manage key initiatives for growth

  • Overcome objections of prospective customers

  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports

  • Keep up with product and service information and updates. Stay informed about competing products and services

  • Explain and demonstrate features of products and services

  • Close sales and achieve sales targets

  • Liaison between all departments within including order entry, production, delivery, field service, RMA’s/repair, billing

  • Manage complex project pursuits from discovery to close, both internally and with customers

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3+ years of customer service, sales support, marketing, and/or sales experience

  • 2+ years of experience with Salesforce or other CRM

  • Valid Driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree

  • Experience with product & pricing management

  • Diversified sales support in a technology field

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and logical thinking skills along with judgment to make strategic decisions

  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally

  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow-up on issues and progress to meet leadership expectations

  • Excellent written, verbal skills, and a passion for continuous improvement

  • Capability to perform in a fast-paced and changing environment

  • Experience working cooperatively and respectfully on multicultural/cross-functional teams

  • Knowledge of how to present ideas and strategies clearly to diverse audiences, leadership, and decision makers

  • Experience working on multiple projects while following up on issues and progress reports to drive projects to completion

  • Comfortable and able to travel to meet business needs

  • Strong organization and time management

  • Can work creatively in an ambiguous environment

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
