The Director of Food Sales, Latin America is responsible for driving, executing, and developing assigned client accounts or territories for the Food Distribution industry in the territories of Mexico, Chile, Brazil, and other regions in LA as required.

Role Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Achieve revenue goals and other sales metrics by:

    • Outbound calls/meetings from qualified lead lists and self-identified prospects (trade shows, conferences, etc.).

    • Responding to inbound leads from current client referrals, marketing-generated campaigns, web searches, etc.

    • Developing relationships with referring third parties: brokers, consultants, other vendors, etc.

    • Effectively manage opportunities through the entire sales cycle and track activities.

    • Aggressively prospect, network, and pre-qualify opportunities to maximize sales productivity.

    • Accountable for generating a significant and consistent stream of new business revenue for the company by successfully selling our company’s value proposition to new clients.

    • In charge of the overall client relationship from inception to contract implementation.

    • Ensures that all of the client’s needs and expectations are met.

    • Responsible for meeting established new business revenue and client retention goals.

    • Provide written proposals and quotes to prospective clients.

Role Priorities:

  • Client-focused selling – using a consultative solution-based selling approach.

  • Key accounts sales strategy & progressive engagements.

  • Develop a complete understanding & engagement with assigned accounts on the regulatory requirements to position Sensitech’s solutions effectively.

  • Client engagements and communications.

  • Contract development and closure.

  • Intimate knowledge of market needs & regulatory requirements to formulate product and services strategy.

  • Extended role of managing a team of sales account managers in other LA territories.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.

  • 10+ years of direct sales & account management experience, i.e. Business-2-Business.

  • 10+ years of experience in managing a territory or regional sales team.

  • Bilingual in Spanish, both verbal and written.

  • Travel at least 65% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience in selling both products and services – preferably in the food cold chain logistics & supply chain industry.

  • Ability to communicate well in Portuguese.

  • Ability to work as part of a team within the assigned group and cross-functionally.

  • Ability to articulate technical presentations and product demonstrations to various audiences, including senior management and technical customers/prospects. 

  • Ability to influence others and act as an organizational change agent.

  • Ability to perform research, analyze data, and draw conclusions.

  • Independent worker with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

  • Demonstrates a solid technical aptitude coupled with a focus on customers.

  • Proven records of managing successful sales teams are required & a minimum of a 90% forecast achievement.

  • Excellent track record of selling in the relevant industries.

  • Solid understanding of all aspects of the cold chain, supply chain, and logistics in domestic shipments & exports.

  • Previous experience working for a multinational company is an advantage.

  • Competently using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SalesForce.
