About This Role:
This role provides technical and financial leadership throughout the sales and proposal process, from conducting facility walk‑throughs and evaluating customer needs to developing detailed financial models that assess project and ECM viability. It oversees and coordinates a multidisciplinary proposal team, ensuring high‑quality proposal development, risk mitigation, and on‑time delivery of all project materials. Additionally, the role presents the business case to customers and supports the creation of clear, compelling proposal and presentation content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical/financial support of sales activities
- Financial modeling of energy solutions (EaaS, ESPC, etc.)
- Proposal writing and review/QC
- Management and coordination of proposal team
- Conduct walk-throughs of customer facilities to determine project viability
- Interviews customers to determine facility needs and assess customer expectations
- Assists in the preparation of customer presentations
- Presents the business case of the proposal for oral interviews and customer meetings
Financial Modeling:
- Combines energy savings values, sub-contracted costs, and purchased material costs and incorporates these data into NORESCO’s financial model
- Reviews energy savings and costs for reasonableness based on past experience, metrics, and knowledge of the project
- Analyzes Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) for technical and financial viability
- Identifies ECM and project cost and savings risks, and develops a plan and strategy to manage and mitigate these risks
Proposal Writing and Review/QC:
- Responsible for financial/technical sections of the proposal
- Reviews ECM Write-Ups and other technical proposal sections provided by Energy Engineers
- Coordinates proposal document strategy and tactics with the Account Executive
- Supported by a Proposal Administrator (PA) to review, edit, and assemble the proposal and detailed Audit Documents
Management and Coordination of Proposal Team:
- Manages the proposal team including Account Executive, Energy Engineer(s), Lighting and Water Auditor/Designer, Construction Manager, and M&V Specialist
- Host weekly conference calls to communicate strategy and tactics, review team member’s responsibilities and progress to date against milestones
- Coordinates and leads risk review meeting prior to proposal submission, presenting the business case for the project
- Manages the proposal and detailed audit budgets and timelines to produce project deliverables on time and within budget
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years’ experience in energy engineering, energy project development and/or engineering project management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in development of Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) projects
- Degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
- MBA, PE, and CEM are considered a plus.
- Skilled with Microsoft Excel, engineering calculations, building simulations.
- Adept in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Sales aptitude and keen business/financial acumen.
- General engineering knowledge of HVAC, lighting & lighting controls, DDC / pneumatic controls, building envelope, water/wastewater, and renewable energy systems.

This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
Pay Range:
The annual salary for this position is $146,750–$205,250. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
