The Associate Director, Commercial Parts Inventory - Footprint Optimization & Inventory Strategy is responsible for designing and supporting the execution of a best‑in‑class parts distribution and inventory model that enhances service delivery, reduces cost, and drives commercial growth. You will partner closely with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure inventory availability, customer proximity, and operational efficiency. This includes determining optimal distribution center locations, implementing inventory placement models, developing kit strategies, integrating forecasting tools, and aligning sales plans with supply capabilities. As the primary liaison for footprint and inventory optimization across the Commercial business, this leader ensures cohesive planning, strong cross‑functional alignment, and measurable performance improvement.

While our main office and preferred work location is Charlotte, North Carolina the selected candidate may also be eligible to work from our Palm Beach Gardens, FL location or remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Footprint Strategy & Execution

  • Determine the optimal number and location of distribution centers.
  • Define inventory placement strategy across branches, regional hubs, and storefronts.
  • Implement footprint changes and manage ongoing performance.

2. Inventory & Kitting Management

  • Establish standards for PM (Preventive Maintenance) and AM (Aftermarket) kits.
  • Identify additional kits required and define contents for each kit.
  • Oversee inventory levels and kit availability to support service and sales goals.

3. Sales Alignment

  • Develop sales strategies aligned with footprint and kitting plans.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure customer needs are met efficiently.

4. Forecasting & Digital Solutions

  • Implement advanced forecasting tools (e.g., KetteQ, Servigistics) to improve demand planning.
  • Drive digital transformation for predictive analytics and inventory optimization.

5. SCM & Operations Partnerships

  • Integrate aftermarket/parts forecasting with central supply chain planning.
  • Align contracts and escalation paths with Supply Chain and Operations teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for footprint optimization within the broader SCM framework.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in inventory management, network/footprint optimization, supply chain strategy, or aftermarket parts operations.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams and cross‑functional footprint transformation efforts, including change management and performance tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Prior leadership experience in HVAC, industrial services, aftermarket parts, or a similar distribution‑intensive business.
  • Experience deploying or operationalizing advanced analytics, predictive models, or digital tools to support stocking rules, network design, and demand planning.
  • Familiarity with SIOP/S&OP processes, branch‑level stocking strategy, and segmentation of maintenance vs. repair parts.
  • Proficiency with ERP or inventory systems such as SAP, Servigistics, or other supply chain planning and execution platforms.
  • Certifications such as APICS CPIM/CSCP, Six Sigma, Lean, or equivalent credentials.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder‑management skills across technical, operational, and commercial functions.
  • Strong proficiency with forecasting tools (e.g., KetteQ, Servigistics) and capability to integrate forecasting with central supply chain planning.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives with Supply Chain, Operations, Commercial, and Digital teams to ensure aligned inventory strategy and operational execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with demonstrated experience driving cost efficiency, service improvement, and inventory performance.
  • Experience supporting large‑scale operational change, digital transformation, or inventory system enhancements.

This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.  

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is $178,750–$250,250.  Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
