About this role
We are seeking a motivated, self-starter for the newly created Deal Desk Specialist role. The Deal Desk Specialist will drive the transformation and growth of cross-segment deals including OEM equipment and aftermarket solutions. Key responsibilities include establishing an end-to-end process, cost modeling and pricing recommendations. Additionally, the role with ensure successful deal construction, removal of barriers and leadership escalation when appropriate.
This role reports to the Associate Director, Sales Operations for the Commercial HVAC business and will work cross-functionally with sales, finance and strategy. The candidate will gain a solid understanding of our business, perform analytics and modeling, and make data driven recommendations. The candidate will have proven skills and with demonstrated results in both modeling and process development.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement the end-to-end process for the deal desk model.
Work with Digital Technologies to implement systems to support the deal desk model once developed.
Support sales in deal structuring and approval, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in handling cross-business unit deals.
Review end-to-end deal economics including gross margin, contribution margin, terms, and other financial implications.
Review deals in various cohort analyses and against historic customer value lenses.
Review competitive dynamics and win loss data to make data-driven decisions.
Summarize deal desk findings for various levels of business stakeholders.
Develop knowledge of category strategies, client purchase patterns, and key economic levers as inputs into overall deal review process.
Ensure deals receive the proper approvals, decision making is well documented.
Interface with finance, sales, sales ops, legal and other stakeholders to manage complex deals.
Interface with others on Pricing team to drive organizational alignment on "what is a good deal?"
Support deal and quoting analyses for strategic planning and performance tracking.
Analyze costing data to help drive organizational improvements in special costing and deal registration.
Analyze large account quoting and purchasing patterns to help us serve these customers and maximize our most important relationships.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
3+ years of experience in finance, modeling, process development, and/or execution.
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office 365 to include excel (pivot tables/lookups).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, finance, or economics.
5+ years of related experience.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience driving process and system enhancements.
Knowledge of B2B pricing and pricing in packaged solutions, as well as strong skills in quantitative methods.
Demonstrated data analytics skills, knowledge of financial reporting and analysis.
Track record of leading cross-functional deals, superior communication skills, influencing up and across complex organizations.
Application knowledge of PowerBi, SAP, SalesForce.com, ServiceMax or related platform.
Knowledge of and/or experience in HVAC industry and/or field service industries.
Prior P&L experience.
Demonstrated bias for action.
