The Commercial HVAC America’s Field Service Business Processes team focuses on the operational efficiency, standardization, and quality of service delivery processes for i.e. Finance, Sales etc. across Carrier's Commercial HVAC Field Operations.

About this role

The Business Practitioner & Process Automation Lead is responsible for driving business-wide process excellence, operational alignment and digital enablement across the organization. This role serves as the central owner for how work flows across functions, how continuous improvement is embedded into daily operations and how data is connected and visualized.

This position partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Sales, Contracts, Supply Chain, and IT/Digital teams to establish scalable processes, governance frameworks, and digital workflows that improve execution speed, visibility, and accountability.

This is an onsite position in Charlotte, NC.

Key Responsibilities

Business Process & Operational Excellence

  • Own and standardize end-to-end business processes across multiple functions.
  • Develop and maintain standard work, playbooks, RACIs, and operating cadences.
  • Lead process mapping, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve execution consistency and efficiency.

Cross-Functional Governance & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Lead governance forums, operating rhythms, and process review cadences.
  • Align stakeholders across functions to shared priorities, ownership models, and escalation paths.

Continuous Improvement & Change Management

  • Lead Kaizen events and structured problem-solving workshops.
  • Drive adoption of new processes and digital tools through training, communication, and reinforcement.
  • Continuously refine processes and solutions based on performance data and stakeholder feedback.

KPI Visibility & Data Enablement

  • Define, develop, and maintain executive dashboards and operational reporting.
  • Translate business needs into meaningful performance metrics and visibility tools.
  • Reduce reliance on manual reporting through automation and data connectivity.

Process Automation

  • Identify, design, and implement digital workflows and automation to reduce manual effort and improve operational visibility.
  • Leverage system integrations and APIs to connect data across tools, dashboards, and reporting environments.
  • Partner with IT/Digital teams to ensure solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned to enterprise standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in business operations, process improvement, AI automation or transformation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, IT, Management Systems
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification.
  • Experience operating in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience building or scaling operational frameworks or transformation functions.
  • Experience with digital transformation, automation, or workflow enablement.
  • Exposure to system integrations, data connectivity, or API-enabled solutions.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across multiple functions..
  • Experience driving change management and stakeholder adoption.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, workflow design, and operational governance.

This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.  

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is $120,000–$168,000.  Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
