The Role:

The Carrier Controls team is currently being reviewed for a restructure, As part of the restructure a new role has been created for an Engineering Hub. The aim is to centralise the controls engineering to improve efficiencies and to standardise the documentation control for all projects. The role will be involved in the application engineering of controls and working with local resources to implement the programs. The Controls Engineer (CE) will oversee all aspects of the project programming using planning, monitoring and controlling processes. The CE is responsible for co-ordination and management to completion of all aspects of the controls engineering and will assist the local controls teams with the assigned projects.

What you will deliver:

  • Work closely with and assist the controls sales team with solutions and tender submissions to ensure the best possible solution is put forward at the time of tender.
  • Ensure the successful hand over of the project from sales to the engineering team. Participate in group discussion and workshop as required to ensure a clear and concise hand over.
  • Develop creative solutions whilst meeting the project scope / intent to ensure the best outcome for the project and company.
  • Produce all project related documentation to ensure the successful, most efficient installation of all aspects of the project. Project documentation to include but not limited to, points lists, controller connection drawings, equipment connection drawings, functional descriptions, flow chart / diagrams, user manuals etc.
  • Develop control programs and graphics to suit the project specification, to Carrier Australia standards.
  • Develop a library of control programs and documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy of delivery as well as increasing efficiency.
  • Ensure the successful hand over of the project from engineering to the commissioning team. Participate in group discussion and workshop as required to ensure a clear and concise hand over.
  • Programming and configuration of Carrier i-Vu and CCN controllers and systems. Configuration of BACnet IP and ms/tp control networks. Maintenance and upgrade of Carrier CCN ms/tp control networks. Interface to third party LON and Modbus protocols.
  • Participate in the commissioning process as required to ensure the successful project delivery to exceed customer expectation. Site works may be required.
  • Provide technical support as required to the controls team, participate in the development of controls technicians and staff.
  • Work with Sales, Marketing and Account Managers to develop new control strategies and solutions to develop the controls business.

What we like about you:

  • 5-10 years’ Experience in HVAC field or an affiliated mechanical services industry
  • Managed technical teams previously in HVAC or similar field
  • Develop and Implement Budgets
