Sustainability Data Analyst

The Sustainability Data Analyst will play a key role in providing ongoing support with energy data analysis and reporting, certification, and other program element oversight in supporting program robustness and repeatability in achieving Carrier’s 2030 ESG Goals.

This position requires extensive cross-group coordination at all levels of the company, strong sustainability subject matter expertise, robust business acumen, excellent communication skills, the ability to synthesize complex business problems and devise and execute on plans which address big challenges and opportunities in the environmental sustainability space. 

To do well in this role, the candidate must be able to confidently handle complex projects and provide guidance in situations of high ambiguity.


  • Lead the process for auditing, validating, and assuring the quality of the EH&S data provided
  • Complete required monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Monthly and quarterly reviews of GHG emissions through data audits and verification checks
  • Work with ESG team to understand how data provided informs reporting for regulations and frameworks and as regulatory requirements are updated, ensure updated information is requested
  • Help develop and compile new definitions and standards to allow for consistent and transparent tracking of goals
  • Assist in developing change management tools to support data modifications and help ensure smooth transitions
  • Support delivery and maintenance of standardized dashboards and analytics

Experience & Key Skills

  • 4-5 years of working experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting on social sustainability data and metrics
  • Able to connect various requirements into one synchronized process and work with various stakeholders
  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communications skills that reflect an ability to clarify and simplify complex issues
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a successful track record
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, as well as software tools generally

Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Finance, Statistics, or Environmental Sciences
  • 4-5 years’ work experience; 1 year of greenhouse gas, utility or ESG data reporting experience preferred
  • GRI, SASB, IR or similar certification is preferred, but not required
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills, and high degree of business acumen
  • Outstanding initiative, creativity, and energy
  • Ability to travel 20-30% of the time
