Our Fire & Security business encompasses a wide range of residential, commercial, and industrial systems, including fire and carbon monoxide detection, alarm signaling, incident management, evacuation, monitoring, fire, gas, and water mist suppression, fire and gas safety solutions, and industrial equipment controls. Our security business offers access control and event monitoring, electronic locks, hospitality solutions, mobile apps and credentialing, real estate access solutions, remote access management, video management, and video analytics.

Position Summary:

Carrier’s Fire & Security IoT and Emerging Technology team, a part of Carrier’s Fire & Security business, is seeking a Sr IoT Architect experienced in the development and scaling of IoT solutions. 

The IoT and Emerging Technology team supports Fire & Security businesses with pre-development, development, and integration of IoT platform solutions and also works with customers directly on emerging innovations in IoT. The position is located in Atlanta, GA.

Key Job Responsibilities:

- Research, development, and pre-development of key IoT platforms for Fire and Security Business Units

-Develop & Build Platform Architectures for Embedded and Software

- Partner with the Digital team to integrate solutions into Carrier’s Cloud platform

- Develop test plans, conduct design & code reviews

- Lead and mentor other engineers

-Work with program management and customers to deliver solutions on time

Required Qualifications: 

  • Experience leading technical teams 
  • Experience with front-end innovation in IoT.
  • Experience with Secure Software Development.
  • Experience with Low Power Electronics & Wired\Wireless design (RS485, BLE, WiFi, LoRaWan, 5G, NB-IOT)
  • Experience with Firmware, Software, and operating systems (C programming, C++, Python, FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux) 
  • Certified Product Owner or Scrum Master. Familiarity with IoT standards (MQTT, Sparkplug, AWS IOT Core)
  • Experience with relevant standards FCC, UL, CSA, IEC for electronic device qualification

Education:

BS in, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 8+ years of experience developing IoT Solutions
