Job Description

Carrier’s Digital Sales and Serve (DSS) Center of Excellence (COE)team is enabling higher-quality digital commerce experiences throughout the enterprise. Our Digital Revenue Accelerator team within the DSS COE oversees all of Carrier’s global investment through the COE in the areas of E-Commerce and MarTech. Through centralized investment in technology, talent, and business transformation the team aims to solidify Carrier’s position as a leader in the digital commerce and MarTech space.  

The primary role of the E-Commerce Technical Lead is to build out eCommerce, MarTech, and SaaS billing instances at Carrier. The core responsibility of this role is to meet with Carrier business leaders to determine business, functional and technical requirements and participate in application design, configuration, testing, and deployment. Candidates in this role are given the opportunity to mentor junior and mid-level developers of the eCommerce development team and should be comfortable with designating tasks for team members in a balanced and effective manner.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Serve as a technical liaison between the business, project team, and developers/testers by effectively communicating the status of technical roadmaps with business stakeholders. 

  • Act as a liaison with the architecture team on solution definition, code reviews, and deployment practices. 

  • Perform configuration and customization of the platform for E-commerce, MarTech, and SaaS billing projects. 

  • Write user stories and participate in efforts to develop and execute testing, training, and documentation. 

  • Contribute to the end-to-end discovery process as needed (solution definition, pre-sales, requirements specification, estimating, and project planning) to help Carrier businesses make informed decisions. 

  • Utilize best practices to perform operational support, enhancements, and bug fixes as needed to the platform, particularly around B2B Commerce, Sales Cloud, and Experience Cloud. 

  • Help manage, train, and mentor engineering teams (onshore and offshore) and delivery leaders from ideation, planning, and development iterations. 

  • Use deep business knowledge of E-Commerce solutions to drive key architecture decisions for major business initiatives and plans. 

  • Design and implement Salesforce integrations, Apex classes, and Lightning components to support application builds as needed. 

  • Design modifications to existing integrations and components while minimizing customization, designing reusable components, and eliminating redundancy in designs throughout the team's environment. 

Key Skills

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills to translate technical software solutions to non-technical clients, including senior management. 

  • Experience in developing execution plans including resources leveling, effort estimations, and cross-team dependencies. 

  • Proven experience setting up a development environment on their own. 

  • Experience mentoring, coaching, developing, and inspiring junior resources within engineering teams. 

  • Practice and enforce Agile and Scrum development methodologies. 

  • Ability to lead a team to provide high-performance code reviews and troubleshoot all software development issues that arise. 

  • Comfort building repeatable, reusable software components to enable speed of delivery. 

  • Team player with a positive, collaborative work ethic.  

  • Business owner mentality, willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary. 


  • 5+ years of professional work experience in E-Commerce products and technologies with a focus on B2B and/or D2C E-Commerce strategies. 

  • 5+ years of experience working on Salesforce platforms. 

  • Salesforce Platform Developer Certification I or higher 

  • 2+ years of experience with customization on the Salesforce Lightning platform including Lightning components using the Lightning Design System framework, Apex, Apex data loader, and declarative platform tools (process Builder, Visual Workflow, Lightning App Builder, etc.)  

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Agile methodologies in a working environment – demand prioritization, planning, and execution to deliver software solutions. 

  • 5+ years of API Design, using Web Services or other similar frameworks. 

  • Software engineering skills with Platform (Apex, LWC, SOQL, Unit Testing). 

  • Experience in core web technologies including HTML5, JavaScript and jQuery. 

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and ETL tools. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles. 

  • Experience with web services (REST & SOAP, JSON & XML, etc.). 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 


  • Experience building solutions using B2B Commerce Lightning, Experience Cloud, and Sales Cloud 

  • Experience integrating with Cloud/SaaS applications, APIs, SDK of packaged applications, and legacy applications 

  • ITIL v3 foundations certified preferred 

  • Experience working within SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) 

  • Industrial and/or Manufacturing Industry experience working directly with Customers, Clients, or Vendors.

Pay Range:

$105,750 - $148,250 Annually
